So when I received my Keurig 2.0 I promptly noticed that Keurig had imposed it’s own sort of Digital Rights Management (DRM) in which K-Cups it would allow to be used in the brewer. If you used a K-Cup that did not have specific ink around the edge you’d get an error like this:
The solution is somewhat simple, just use the top of an “approved” K-Cup over the top of your “unapproved” K-Cup. I use a top from a Wegmans K-Cup as theirs are made to be easily peeled off and recycled. I kept one and below is the one I use. I just put it over the one the Keurig refuses to brew and Voila, I can then brew my unapproved coffee as much as I like!
