Matchbox 59th West Virginia Black Walnut Festival
The West Virginia Black Walnut festival, in 2013, had a number of custom Matchbox vehicles made. I’m unclear if these were for sale, promotion, or prizes, but included in these models was a Jeep Cherokee XJ model with event decals. One of the more rare black on red promotional models it was produced towards the end of the time when Matchbox would provide “blanks” to ASAP and Color Comp and may have been their only available color options.
Description
This Jeep Cherokee XJ was produced by either ASAP or CCI though I do not have a record of which one produced it. While it’s not a flashy Code 2, it’s one of the few that used more than 1 color for printing with logos done in dark red text on a yellow background for the hood, and yellow text on the roof.
