Matchbox China Fanta Promotional
Released only in China, this promotional model was only available through a lucky-draw. Not sold to the public these models did not come in a blister pack but individually sealed in plastic bags. In addition to the Jeep Cherokee the Fanta Promotional set also included a 57 Chevy, Leyland Titan, Volvo Container Truck, School Bus, Peugeot Quasar, Ford RS200 and a Ferrari F50.
Description
This promotional model is the only totally orange Jeep Cherokee in the collection. The hood and roof only Tampos are also unusual for a Code 1 release. Typically the hood / roof combo is a Code 2 and Matchbox usually sticks to the side panels for tampos of their models. It may be that the detail required for both the English and Mandarin versions of Fanta would not fit properly on the door panel areas. Either way this is a unique and fun model that I’m very happy to have.
